Term Description
Key Performance Indicator (KPI) A measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives.
Burn-down Chart A graphical representation of work left to do versus time.
Return on Investment (ROI) A performance measure used to evaluate the efficiency of an investment or compare the efficiency of a number of different investments.
Balanced Scorecard A strategic planning and management system used to align business activities with the vision and strategy of the organization.
SMART Goals Objectives that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
Dashboard A user interface that organizes and presents information in a way that is easy to read and understand.
Earned Value (EV) The measure of work performed expressed in terms of the budget authorized for that work.
Planned Value (PV) The authorized budget assigned to scheduled work.
Actual Cost (AC) The realized cost incurred for the work performed on an activity during a specific time period.
Schedule Performance Index (SPI) A measure of schedule efficiency expressed as the ratio of earned value to planned value.
